Default Aftermarket steering wheel / hub issue

Hi all,

i installed a momo hub and OMP corisca today, everything went smoothly i,e removing the original airbag etc. Since fitting the wheel it seems the steering / rack has gone really stiff, almost as if there's no power steering.

I can't see the boss rubbing any where so it's either 2 things...

- i've done the steering bolt up too tight
- the SRS and horn harness comes out from the SRS wheel at the bottom of the reel, the hole to feed this through on the hub is at the top and it seems the wires have gone really tight.

I think its more the first one, i have read on here that the correct torque for the steering bolt is 29ft/lbs.

Can any one confirm this? unfortunately i can't hold of a torque wrench until tomorrow.

Cheers

Have you fitted the s2000 all years momo hub? Think part no. Is 4303 or something. Because if you bought that hub it won't fit facelift models. Forcing it on will no doubt damage something. Put the original wheel back on and make sure the problem goes away. If it does then its a problem with the hub.

Hi Dan, yeah i definately have the correct hub, MY02 and there was only 1 option on demon tweeks for the s2000. i will try the OEM wheel tomorrow to see if it's the hub causing this issue.

Dave, it looks great man, here is how it looks after a test fit...

i got a smashing deal on the corsica, won the bid at 70 quid, it's absolutely mint too, think the guy only used it once for racing and was then told he was not allowed to use a deep dish so he had to change it.

the hub was 60 off demon tweeks, i'll probably go with the nrg short hub, i don't mind where the wheel sits, would just prefer it a bit closer to the controls.

How strange, that Momo hub is completely different to the one I got from demon tweeks!?? I have a BNIB Corsica i might be selling soon, i don't know if i like the dish or not, may go for a flatter wheel.
