I've seen other people refer approvingly to Porterfield pads, although I haven't got around to swapping the OEM pads yet - considering it though, since I'll probably be taking the car on the track again more than once over the course of the summer.

If you can face wrestling with the advanced search function, there's plenty of info out there lurking and waiting to be found.

There are a quite a few companies doing pads now. Pagid, Ferrodo being some of the well known names.

If you're tracking the car and using the brakes hard, it's possible to kill the standard pads. Seen a set crumble when taken off the car... So some better pads if you're planning on a few track days is a good idea IMHO.

I've already imported another set of Porterfield R4S pads, as I'm going to be changing pads soon. If I didn't have the pads, I'd think about some of the other options now - simply because the options weren't there when I first got the Porterfields.

Would you recommend changing the pads yourself or getting it done at the dealership? (assuming you can trust them)

Sound good..but no mention of how durable (ie long lasting) they are compared to OEM or others, generally speaking, as it obviously depends on use.

Are the OEM ones simply Honda's own or another make?

San.
As a 'general' rule the higher the performance the pads, the softer the materials, and hence quicker wearing. It's a bit of a trade off, performance v longer lasting pads.

Anyone able to recommend decent pads which give off significantly less brake dust than OEM Honda pads?
