AEM V2 fitted
Going to crack on with fitting this today/tomorrow and have had a nosy under the bonnet to see what needs to bo done and i've a couple of questions for those that have one of these fitted.
I bought mine second hand and it didn't come with the vacuum hoses so ill be getting them from Halfords in a bit.
(I hope you don't mind me nicking your engine picture Shiskine)
1, What is this valve/sensor thingy that attatches to the OEM box near to the pipe that goes on the throttle body? I'm presuming this attatches underneath the new AEM piping where there is an unsed bracket...
2, These are hard pipes that are welded together, I presume to keep the soft pipes away from the aux belt. I need to replace the pipe that goes from the rockercover to the AEM pipe. What have you guys done with the unused hard pipe?
3, This seems easy enough to replace, but where does the other end go to?
4, What is this, it's bugged me for ages lol
Thanks for any help guys,
Mark

1. Air bypass solenoid valve.
2. Put it away for safe keeping as IIRC its not used anymore you will have long vacuums lines instead.
3. Cant remember but i think that goes onto the AEM
4. Fuel pulsation damper.

Cheers guys
AJ, regarding no.2 there are about 4 air lines in this little spaghetti junction. I will only be replacing/bypassing the big one, I presume the others remain in situ?
Ideally I would like to remove the hard pipes altogether and rerun all these air lines but not too sure what problems that may cause especially as they are so close to the aux belt.
Many thanks,
Mark

I'm not sure if its the same on the S but when I told my mate I was buying mine last week he reminded me that on his S-type he snapped a thermostat (I think) valve installing the V2.

Would you say the sound if nicer/louder than running the car with no airbox lid?

Nicer? Subjective but I'd say yes...
Louder? Pre VTEC, its a little louder. On cam it fookin screams!! the crossover point is much more defined, audibly and physically!
Downside it makes you drive like a loon everywhere
