Advice on what could be restricting power
#31
Don't have time to read through everything, but I wanted to respond to your PM. What does your exhaust look like, including the decat? Is your test pipe resonated? What other resonators do you have in the exhaust, and are you using the stock header?

Just a little update. I changed the air filter on the AEM and took out the first silencer in the 5zigen exhaust.
Here's the filter I changed. New ones bigger and the old one was filthy!
And here's the new result. Dyno sheets been battered around in my car.
Romain was really happy with the result. He said that he hardly ever sees this on his dyno. He said he thinks new manifold is needed to lower the vtec more. I also went to tdi south on Saturday and spoke to Sam there, he also said new manifold to lower the vtec so that's going to be my next step I think. I'm thinking PLM because I have seen a few people get gains and lower the vtec to 3800!
The thing that's confusing me now is Friday had my car dynod at eurospec for it to be mapped and Saturday at tdi south and I know the results were never going to be the same but at tdi my peak power was at 8900 rpm and eurospec it was about 8200rpm. Anyone got any ideas?

What was he happy with?
So how much more power etc was yielded with the 5zigen silencer removed and filter changed? How does the exhaust sound does it drone now?
Peak should be around 8200-8300 tuning/mods won't change that much.
A decat actually allows you to lower vtec more not really the manifold contrary to popular belief.
There are no oil pressure issues at those revs which is fine, best vtec point on Na imo is around ~4000rpm.

He said on the dyno at eurospec he normally sees about 230ish for an s2000 with few mods.
Got about 7bhp from the silencer and filter. And the drone is less than before. But the exhaust is bloody loud but it's growing on me
