Advice on matching MCB paint colour
After a successful visit to the dentist I walked back to my car, I had parked nearby at a public car park next door to the local nursery and to my horror it looked as though a tiny tot had decided to draw a series of circles across the whole passenger door right down to the primer... I wasn't happy anymore!
So I contacted a local dent/scratch repair company who had the car for a day to do the passenger door and also some scrapes I decided to get done at the same time due to a confrontation with my garage wall. On bringing the car back they said the repair of the scratches had gone very well, it is as though they were never there... however it is the wrong colour blue! They told me they used the correct colour code of B-66P but unlike with other codes this code only gave them 1 shade on their machine and that they were going to have to contact their colourist to get the machine updated and this could take months!
I haven't paid anything yet and they were recommended to me by my place of work as we use them for several hundred lease cars so thought I would be getting a good job done. I have no idea about paint machines or how many shades you get with each code but would like to know your thoughts on whether they are talking a load of rubbish and if MCB is a difficult colour to match?
Thanks
Matt

Sounds like they have made a bit of a cockup and are now trying to fob you off with BS. Sarren had to get his Monza resprayed and that would be an even worse colour. They did a fantastic match.
Don't give them any money - maybe worth getting the number of somewhere else to get some advise.
