AC fan - when does yours come on?
I have had an issue with my AC rad fan since moving over to my AEM v2 ECU and it has now caused my compressor to fail.
Can anyone confirm their AEM settings? I have found that my settings do not bring on the AC fan as required.
My rad fan (& AC fan) come on once the coolant temperature reaches the desired set point temperature. But the AC cannot bring the AC fan (or both) when it needs it to keep the AC working correctly?
So if you put the AC on as soon as you get in the car in summer the fans don't come on and the discharge gas pressures go through the roof, meaning intermittent cooling when stationary & with a cold engine.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Also, can anyone who is using a standard ECU confirm that when they get in the car (from cold) that the AC cools straight away and the AC fan runs?

Standard ECU here and pretty sure my AC fan comes on as soon as I press the AC button and I get cold air.
Would this thread help give you some clues ? https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/115...e-fix-finally/

Yes that thread makes sense (thanks) as it is saying that you need to set up the AC fan parameter LS6 and not the rad fan's under LS8 and then let the rad switch control the rad & AC fan when the coolant requires, which would work!.
I just don't understand if this is the correct setup then why others set LS8 up to control the rad fan (+AC fan as they share a common ground) as this stops the AC working correctly. Instead you would just install a lower value fan switch..
This must be how the OEM system operates as you need a fan switch to lower the coolant temp, hence why spoon and alike sell them????.
Or unless there is another method using the AEM software? Maybe latch the compressor on button to LS6?

Hi Jim,
When the AEM triggers the fans to come on via the coolant sensor then both fans come on together. The AC also triggers both fans to come on when the button has been pressed. I have had issues before where the AC triggers the fans and even when i switch the AC the fans keep going but after restarting its fine. Its only done that once or twice thou.

Thanks for the screen shots Mark.
My LS8 output was selected as Rad fan 2! I've now changed it to Rad fan 1. Cheers, don't know how that had happened, but Rad fan 2 doesn't have the AC function. I'll test it when I change it on the car tomorrow but I'm pretty sure that was the problem.
BTW - Both fans come on together because they share a common switched ground. They don't work independently.
P:S them fan settings wouldn't work because they are the wrong way round.
