i bought my car from Bob Gerard. They even register it with honda for you so there really are no issues with the warranty. When BG get the car all they have to do to make it match uk spec is fit locking wheel nuts, which the do for you anway. It doesn't even show on the V5 as an import and BG supply you with a uk service book, manuals etc.

i think you'd be a mug to buy one from a honda dealer as the saving you make buying one from the likes of BG is huge.

I'm looking at rejoining the club after a 3 year break - looking at BG's too, what colour are you going for?

Is the import exactly the same car from Bob Gerard's as Honda dealer-eg Thatcham alarm, Headlights etc. BG supply Certificate of Conformity but one can't help but worry.

I think this is Honda dealers way of scaring the poop out of customers to force them to buy from them.
I bought my S at Bob Gerard recently and can assure you that you have nothing to worry about buying from them.

I too had the local Honda dealer trying their level best to put me off, saying that there would be untold problems etc. I asked them if Honda made good cars for them to sell and crap cars for other countries, this seemed to silence them They would not shift on list price, had they even met me half way then I might have bought through them.

Anyway, I bought a red S from BG with VSA and mats fitted, plus the Supagard treatment. With their OTR costs, it was a total of

This is something I'm considering at the moment. For 22K (ish) I can get a brand new euro with VSA or a 05/55 UK GT without VSA (which I would like for peace of mind).

My only question is regarding insurance. Do you have to declare its a parallel import and if so what sort of penalty if any is applied?

One other query - is yellow really rare or not available anymore. I've been scanning the auto trader and found a handfull at best.

The car is full UK spec.

The insurance should be exactly the same as a UK car.

(Mine always has been )

On the your car insurance just check the wording if you have a "new car replacement" clause in your car insurance, or in any gap insurance you might choose, to see if there might be a limitation. I know that on Zurich you are not covered for non-uk purchased cars.
