95 RON petrol-Why so bad?
OK, this has probably been answered before, I did a search but didn't really find a conclusive answer. I've just returned from a very enjoyable few days driving around Cornwall & North Devon (most notably along the fantastically named 'Atlantic Highway'). Anyway, garages tend to be few and far between and when I eventually found a BP with super unleaded (97 RON, I think), they'd run out so, being on fumes & not knowing where the next garage would be, I stuck

I can't remember what it says in the manual, but I doubt you need worry too much. I use 95 in the far north of scotland when I have to, and it doesn't bother me at all.

Yep 95-98 RON is what it says on the MY04+ petrol cap.

Changing the subject slightly, where in Bristol are you reds?
PS Thanks for all the quick answers everyone. I've never really liked using 'supermarket' petrol, no matter what car I've owned, but sometimes you just got no choice.

I didn't really notice any dip in performance, my girlfriends constant tensing up & moaning will testify to that!

I'm in Kingswood Alex, do you know it?
Incidentally, have you seen the Bristol meet info in the meets section? Several of us are going for a drive and Sunday lunch in a couple of weeks, would be great to meet you...
