Default 90k Service

I rang up Inchcape in Romford and they quoted me £257 for a oil, oil filter and pollen filter change.

Now is it me or is that slightly extortionate for the work required ?

Can anyone recoommend a place to get it done from in Essex ?

I can do it myself but the car has full service history from day 1 so I would rather keep on adding to the records rather than letting slip now.

I paid Brayley Honda in Hemel £145 for my 90k service early last year - I did supply my own oil though, and had the benefit of an S2KUK member discount.

HTH.

I don,t have my car serviced by a dealer any more so can't help, but Inchape are expensive for parts as well, and try it on if they can.

John Pease In Braintree seem ok, they did wife's Jazz and son is going to get a service for his Civic type R for the stamp soon. I think they are an approved Honda service centre they no longer sell cars. Wife's jazz was £190 inc MOT 85 k service inc all consumables and they did a rear wheel bearing under warranty at 7 years old and collected the car for the warranty work from Stansted and delivered it back

Avoid inchcape at all costs! Which are big costs btw!

Mine also had FHSH when I bought it, but i am very capable and knowledgeable with cars, Especially honda's so I knew/know I can/could do a far superior job on my car than the usual ex quik fit oik that often make their way into main dealer workshops.

Also, if you are gonna be keeping the car for a while the chances are when it comes time to sell on the s2000 may not be worth much anyhow, with or without Honda service history.

My advice would be to have DIY services, using the best parts and consumables, and keep a log of what you've done with all the receipts for stuff. Providing your not a total oaf, Honda's are very good to work on. They even give you instructions for oil and coolant changes in the manual FFS!

It will save you a pretty penny, give you peace of mind that the job has been done honestly and well.
