OEM airbox is far better than any eBay tat.

I liked my decat. It made the exhaust sound better IMO.

After all, pipe is just pipe and if you think paying £300 for an induction kit is getting you anything other than a £295 sticker, you're mistaken.

Buy a cheap ebay one for the piping and stick a re-cleanable filter on the end - sponge one is best.
You're just buying different sounds really. Not heard an AEM but have a K&N kit now and had a PRM before it. (PRM was nicer IMO)

Well done on the 80hr week! I do those at sea every week for 3 months straight so I know how horrendous they are!

I would get a new ecu (aem) and then go from there. For bang for buck, you will get much more with a remap. But then, there is an argument to get all your mods done first so that the map is not compromised. Up to you.

I have the exhaust mod, cheap eBay induction kit and japspeed decat. Check the tdi south dyno day thread for the results. For the £125 total outlay I thought the results were pretty good.

Varying designs of intake can create more power on this car.

Its pretty much a given that a good intake will generate more power than the stock box - you can improve on the stock airbox system.
