Dealers always get confused with service intervals on the S2k. It's definitely every 9k miles or annually whichever comes first.

thats what i thought!! Although the list he was working from did have the S and the NSX under the 75k band so obviously they have been sent some wrong info at some point. Doesn't help that the service manager is off on maternity at the moment, he seems to be the only one who knows what he is talking about!

also is the 72k service one of the mega expensive ones?

He/She?

Can't imagine why any dealer would turn away business, perhaps his hormones are all messed up.

54,000 miles or 72 Months is the expensive service.

Honda did indeed change the 12k schedule about 5 years ago as a ruse to lessen leasing costs on fleet cars - a 60k
lease period would only require 4 services that way instead of 5...

Nonetheless, the s2000, NSX, HRV & Legend all remain on 9k intervals. The 72k service is not a biggie..

Mine's boked in for a 72k service next week at the local dealers, cost is £295 which I thought was a bit steep as it's not one of the biggies, may well take my own oil

Check they are quoting you for the correct service - the 72k is purely an oil and filter change plus inspections. The 81k is
your next biggie with air filter, tappets, brake & diff fluid, etc...

I did check at the time and queried the cost given it wasn't one of the major services. I was told prices have increased and the VAT has gone up. Their starting price was £331!! Hmmmmmm..... Perhaps they are trying to claw back the cost of the complimentary bottle of wine they gave me at the last visit! You know what they say, nothing's for free in this life

I'm going to look into an independant from now on. I do like to have the dealer stamp but now the car is that bit older I'm beginning to think it doesn't justify the extra cost.
