Default 72,000 mile service

Hi,

Need this service done soon. It is a big one so how much should I expect to pay. Dutton-Forshore at Bexleyheath want an astranomical £500 give or take a few quid. So should I go there or elsewhere?

I want to maintain my Full Honda Service History so I am stuck with a main Stealaship.

Thanks

Call around a few Honda stealers, play them off against each other. But your S is 6 years old now do you think the stamp is worth it? I'd go independant and save 50%+.

Brake Fluid, Gearbox and Diff Oil Change also. I think that it also includes auxillary belt change but not sure.

Seems like a lot of money to me just for a stamp in the service book?

My 72k was £220 (£260 before S2KUK discount).

Admittedly, that was 2008, but £500 seems a bit steep.

Oil, filter, air cleaner element, belts, diff fluid and the usual inspection stuff.

Bet they won't even do the valves for that price.

That sounds very expensive!

Last autumn I paid £197.70 (S2KUK discounted price) at Brayley Honda, Hemel Hempstead.

I'm petty much in the same boat.
I took out an extended warranty as we're going to go abroad in the car and it offers European Breakdown.
Only problem is, it's stipulated you must get the car serviced by Honda.

Hendy Honda have quoted £498. Hendy do offer an Advantage card which gives 10% off servicing and half price MOTS etc taking the price down a bit.
Geo Collins have quoted £350 (though this is without Spark Plugs as the car has only done 36,000)

Got some more ringing around I think.

Im sure my 72k service was a minor one, oil and filter change. Had mine done at garage R, think it was about £150.

some honda dealers i rang round quoted for a cambelt change! stealers are worse than useless!
