600 or 650 Miles Before VTEC Heaven?
I have nearly finished my initial run in period, and I was wondering if I could start to use a little bit of VTEC at 600 miles or if I should wait until 650. I know that in the Technical FAQ's it says 650, but in the hand book it says 600
Can anyone help with my moral dilemma, I know that I need to go up 1k RPM for every 100 miles I cover after that, but when should I start. Got to get this right first time cos I can't turn back the clock
Answers on a postcard please.

Just listen to the engine. You can feel it loosen up. Keep pushing it a little bit higher each time and don't let the engine sit at constant revs - it will be wonderfully run in at that point but not necessarily elsewhere. My car has now done about 800 miles and it's effectively fully run in although I expect it will loosen up a little more in a few thousand miles.
