IS this correct?

Basically I read about the 5 year corrosion warranty on S2k alloys on this forum, I then gave Honda UK a call to see if my car was applicableas its only certain chassis numbers that are permitted.

Anyway, the nice lady and H UK called me back and said yep im covered and to report it to my nearest dealer so I did just that.

Firstly they told me they would call me back as the main service advisor was out, they never called back I called back at about 5pm a few hours later and apparently the service advisor had gone home already so a tech monkey said he would try to help.

So i explained that I had phoned H UK in the morning and they had approved the warrenty claim, he then said he had never heard of the alloy warrenty and proceeded to imply that I was making the whole thing up

So I told him to phone Honda UK and confirm, at which point he said for me to claim i would have to bring the car in, they would have to take digital photos of the wheels and send them to Honda UK and then wait for the reply THEN order me some new wheels

Do all dealers do this? I had a Cooper S before the S2k and any warranty claims were dealt with there and then on the spot!

Gonna give a call to a bigger dealer slightly farther away tomorrow who specialises in NSX's and S2K's and who possibly have technicians who know a little more about the product!

This seems to be standard practice.

If the dealer replaces your wheels without getting approval in advance from HUK (unless it's something very obvious) I think they would have to suffer the risk of not recoevring it from Honda.

Some dealers are mroe helpful then others though. If they offer to take pics and send them to HUK, it's probably fair enough.
