How many miles have you done on the first pads and discs? 20% left may be loads, all depends on how quickly you wear them.

That's also assuming they actually need doing, biggest earner for dealers all over as many don't question them.

The front pads and discs have never been changed. The car is an 04 (registered April) so it will be the original discs and pads which have done 45k (hence today's service).

As I say, the dealer reported the front discs are heavily scored?

So you've another 5000 miles left at least. But still, worth thinking about changing soonish.

Either way, no point in paying

No need to change pads until they are about 2mm or less, unless imminent track day or touing.

I upgraded at 30k and had more than 50% left - and I dont drive easy.

There shouldn't be any real difference in quality. The pads are oem Honda either way. The main difference with the discs is that the oem ones have Honda written on the box thus making the price more expensive
