4.77 Gears

As a yank with the 4.77 gears, I can answer some of the questions.
1) you're acceleration will significantly improve. The lower gearing makes the s2000 feel like a whole new car. I let people take mine for test drives, and I constantly hear "wow!".
2) the car is not any slower at 60mph. In fact, you get to 60mph much faster than the standard s2000 with the 4.1 gear. You will have to shift more, but its a small price to pay.

The other problem is, you have to change in 3rd before you get to 60, in a car with standard gears you don't, so is it any slower to 60 due to the extra gear swap?

Will the advantage of the quicker acceleration be stripped away by the speed at which you shift. If you are a lightning fast shifter, then yes. If you shift slowly, then NO!

I'm assuming you'd do the Yellowbox yourself. It would be cheaper if you removed the diff yourself, and took it to a specialist to change and setup the gears.

Also, at motorway cruising speeds (85mph) what revs will the car be pulling in 6th and how does that compare with stock diff?
How does this change (to 4.77 diff) affect mpg?
Incidently, when it comes to improving the performance of the S2000, who are the best people to go to in the UK who really know what they are doing when it comes to this engine?

A Yellowbox is a little electronic box that modifies the speed signal. It just intercepts the speed signals from the gearbox, and adjusts them. You use it to correct the Speedo so it still reads correctly after you've changed the gearing.
