You have to get a diff built with the gears and then fitted to the car. You will need:
- Gears
- Diff (easier than using your existing diff as your car won't be off the road)
- Fitting Kit (Available from Rick)
- Yellow Jacket (or box) speedo calibrator(Available from Rick) .
- Someone to fit the gears into the diff
- Someone to fit the diff onto the car.
Total cost should be somewhere between

Not really - with over 300hp my Subaru has little need for shorter ratio's. If I still had the S2000 I might agree

The Ricks is almost an identical copy of the Mugen and I can remember the initial dyno comparisons being very similar.
The Ricks manifold costs a fraction of the price of the Mugen one so it is much better value for money.
Also, IIRC to get the best out of the J's manifold you also need the J's ECU.

Mine came to about 800ish for everything, but i got the gears at MM3.
The kit from ricks has the wrong size spacers IIRC, i got the bits from honda got a few other bits for peice of mind.
If anything it reduces stress on some parts of the transmission, but im not expert.
Def recommend it

the stock ratio is 4.10
there aftermarket gear go upto:
4.44, 4.57r , 4.77
4.65 was replaced by 4.57r which was seen as an improvement over 4.65, IIRC because of the whining noise, better for motorways and there wasnt much difference between the 2 performance wise.

Did you get your 4.57r from Ricks? are they the only guys selling them?
Hmm... checking the ricks site, it looks like they have replaced the 4.57r with a 4.56.
Ricks are selling the 4.56 for $590 which is the same price as hard top guy but hard top guy do a fitted one for $1040.
The fitted one from hard top guy is looking pretty sweet.
If I bought just the gear is it something that Honda would be able/prepared to fit or would I need to go elswhere?
