4.57 gears - real life performance improvement?

Don't make the mistake of assuming the MY04+ UK cars have the gearbox ratios of the AP2s - they don't (in the same way MY04+ UK cars don't have the F22C engine). Take it from me, you don't want a 4.77 FD anyway.

I used to have 4.57s for about two yrs until it crapped out on me. but I found it ..rather harsh on long drives. high rpm and the noise (i'd usually choose to be the last and slowest one of the group, just so i wont have to cruise at 5~5500 rpm trying to keep up with everyone else's speed, but absolutely loved the quick sprints.
then I opted for 4.44s. take off wasn't matched for 4.57 of course, but it was a lot easier to live with. still very good take off, and allowed nimble throttle control.
But, do you believe that these higher gears can be slower on the freeway/motorways? I used to run other S from... say 50~60mph up to .. whatever. at whatever the speed, mine will always jump ahead, but the stock geared ones will always slowly, but surely creep up before we shut down aroudn 130~140mph.
Now i'm back to 4.10 stock gearing to opt for the higher speed cruises on the German Autobahn, and I admit, it took me a while to get used to the rather slugishness down low, but it's not too bad. and I actually feel faster on motorways with less gear changes.
