Default 3rd Car Insurance?

My car is currently sorned and stored, I want to tax it for 6 months and cash in the tax after 4, so it'll only be on the road for 4 months. Does anyone know any good insurance companies who will insure it for theft when it is off the road, then insure it to drive a couple of thousand miles over four months in the summer? My insurance runs out in a couple of weeks and the best quote I've had so far is the same as I paid last year for a full 12 months and 10k miles use.
Any advice off other people who's S2000 is a third car?

Cheers

I've been scoping the s2000 as a 3rd car and got the best quote from Adrian Flux - £300 for 2k miles fully comp but needed to be kept in garage. This would start a new no claims bonus so would in effect have 2 no claims bonuses on the go. 1 for main car and 1 for the s2000.

Hope that helps.

I've got my Golf (2.8 V6 4motion), my wife's golf (1.8T) and my S2000 on Aviva multi-car. I renewed yesterday and all in it was £1000 with appropriate mileage on each car for Summer S2000/Winter Golf use - so £333.33 for each car or however you want to split it. You don't get much "multicar discount" (about £160 in this quote) but their quotes are pretty low in the first place. They also cope really well with minor modifications if you have any.

When i looked at locked in the garage insurance it wasn't much cheaper than normal insurance. I ended up insuring the car as on the road from 12 months and sorning it for time off road.

I have a multicar policy but I don't do what you're talking about. I doubt it'd be much different to insure just vs theft while its stored. My insurer offered bog all discount if the M was garaged so its not.

Cheers for the replies, I'll give Sky and Adrian Flux a bell this week. I looked at multi car policies but it didn't come out any cheaper. My main car is a company car so I only have the S and my wife's focus to insure.
Does anybody know what happens to your no-claims bonus if you let your insurance lapse?

Cheers
