30mph speed limits may be illegal
Just saw this on the ABD (Association of British Drivers) website.
"30mph speed limits on many rural roads declared illegal!"
Read the full story here: ABD Website
(in top right of screen - link to story under "latest press releases")

Just found it - at the bottom of the "story" page, there is a link titled "Unlawful 30mph Speed Limits" which details why the limits may be illegal, and the procedures which have been (in some cases) incorrectly followed by the local authorities in question.

It depends which bit of legislation they've used, rather than the 30mph being incorrect, as I understand it.
They will therefore simply have to rush through a quick fix.
If you've been taxed in a 30, it's worth checking though!
