306's and 350z's
Story 1.
Went for Sunday lunch in Bristol at the weekend. Ceri (the missus) drove back allowing me to have a few beers. We had quite an entertaining drive back which involved Ceri's introduction to V-TEC. It's only the 3rd time she has driven the car since I got it last November, and it took quite a few "just keep your bloody foot down"'s before she got the hang of it.
Half way home we stop at the front of a queue at the traffic lights. As the lights go green, the white Peugeot 306 next to us screeches away with wheels spinning. I think it was a 1.4L or something equivalent. Hilarious! The next set of lights at a roundabout were also red and we were along side the Peugeot again. I was in a jovial mode (something to due with the beers) and looked across past Ceri shouting "come on" whilst giggling profusely. To be fair, the two lads in the Peugeot were also saw the funny side and were laughing too. Ceri was in tunnel vision mode, unable to look up from the windscreen. The lights went green and Ceri gave the car a "more aggressive launch than usual". The Peugeot followed suit and as we turned off the roundabout I looked behind as I heard a screech. The Peugeot had just span through 90 degrees. Even more hilarious!!!
Story 2.
How quick are 350z's? I had a major play with one in Bristol yesterday and was all over him. I had to back off several times, in particular on a few "dream corners". I thought it would be more than my match, but unless the driver was not pushing all the way - hard to believe giving the few stupid overtaking manoeuvres - the S2 is the quicker car by far. Or may be it's just that 1st Lotus training! Anyway, it was great fun.

350z's are supposed to be very quick. on paper 0-60 in 5.7. handling very gd too. took one on a test drive and they are heavy cars, (hence the 3.5 litre lump to get it moving) not too sure up against the s but did see a track race on the net that did involve both the s and the 350 along with the boxster and the m3,
1st = 350z
2nd = m3
3rd = s2000
4th = boxster s
The 350 won with a rather large margin. the s only came third cos he lost control and spun out. it was destined for 2nd.
point being that a 350 with a decent driver would probably have the upper hand!
