3 yr service price

3 yr service price
I need to get the car booked in for its 27k / 3yr service and Bristol honda are quoting me £400.78! These looks very high to me, has anyone had a more competitive quote from a dealer in the SW.
That seems like an awful lot for what is not (that I am aware of) a major service on the car (has only covered 16k miles).
Any info welcome!
Phil.

Sounds high to me. From memory it cost me about £300 but that was a couple of years ago now. I do know that the full service including plugs, diff oil etc only costs £500 at my local dealer in northampton though so it might be worth you shopping around a bit.

27k is a major service as it includes the adjustment of the valve clearances/diff fluid replacement.
You should be able to knock them down a bit - just phone around a few dealers.

I had the 6 year service a few months back from Howards in Weston super Mare and it was about £330.00 i think and that included 12months breakdown cover too. They are a good bunch down there and very respected.
Personally on that mileage i would just have a low mileage service done and not pay for the biggie.

£320 at Howards, good call that, cheers Bandit.
Bit of a pain for me to get to, will see if Bristol will match it.
Interesting point about not having the major service done? what are the general thoughts on this? I agree that at 16k miles it seems a little OTT to have a major service. Most bmw's dont even have 1 service within 16k miles let alone 2 minor and a major! (I know it's not a modern BM motor, but saying thats all).

Just had my 3 yr service + 1st MOT at 18000 miles - Redhill Honda charged me £221 incl vat and courtesy car (£10) threw the MOT in for free and 10% owners club discount. Didn't need plugs and tappets at this mileage and didn't change diff oil
also valetted and washed (in spite of the hosepipe ban.
would cost you too much petrol and a day's holiday to get this deal!!
good luck

If you supply your fluids this will bring the price down. Furthermore, if you are paid s2k uk member, you will get a discount from Honda dealers that are listed on the s2k uk webpage.
