2400 miles, 8 countries, 8 days
Just got back at the weekend from an amazing trip around Europe.
Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Lichenstein, Austria, Italy, France.
We booked all hotels in advance and travelled typically for about 5 hours each day.
Experianced weather conditions ranging from -2 degrees and snowing in the Italian Dolomites to +31 degrees in the South of France.
Met some great people including Mr and Mrs Blurter who just happened to stop for lunch at the same cafe as us in Switzerland - how freaky is that !!!
Fast driving on the German autobahns where it doesnt seem to matter how fast you go, there is always some one trying to overtake you.
Visited the Ferrari Galleria at Maranello and watched formula 1 testing at the circuit there.
Went to the Nurburgring but unfortunately there was a large rock concert with thousands camped out along the trackside verges.
Surprised by how small the leaning tower of Pisa was, i guess size isn't everything !
Ate local food whenever we could from fondue to mussels to pizza.
As time was limited we used the overnight autotrain back from south of France up to Calais, another 600 miles whilst asleep.
All in all a brilliant time and would recommend to anyone wanting an adventure.

Great pics!
What's with the TRAIN, though!?! Seems like sacrilege to miss a night drive through France in an S. Time must have been tight, I guess.
BTW where are you in Herefordshire? (I work in Ross - see v. few round those parts!)

could you give a route out you took and hotels for ideas if that possible, would like to take the wife away without her finding out so the least planning i do the better and i am lazy.
if you get the chance that would be great, unless anybody already has done it and has it on a file which can be emailed over.

Great pics, myself and the girlfriend have been thinking about doing this for a while. Did the 8 days away/travel work out pricey?
I do like that Nurby blue as well.

Route pic from MS autoroute, if you have it i can pm you the file.
Hotels booked via www.hotelsabroad.com
Slightly more expensive than booking direct but much easier.
