Default 2200cc

Hi guys, its been a while since Ive posted but I ve still been reading

I ve got a few questions regarding the 2200cc engine for the collective to answer !

I know it has been out in the US for a while, but only just realised it was out in the JDM as well.

When was it released in Japan, 2004+ or 2006+ ?

Does anyone know if the 2.2 engine is coming to the UK ?

How does it compare, reference performance and parts wise ?

I briefly drove a 2.2 one in the states, it felt a bit gay compared to my one in the UK!

Thanks guys

The F22C was introduced in the US in late 2003, when the MY04 was introduced. I think it was introduced as standard in Japan in late 2005, when MY06 came out, although I've got a feeling it may have been available as an option there from MY04 onwards.

How does it perform? No idea, never having driven one, but from the occasional foray I've made onto the US side of the board I seem to remember a fierce dispute as to whether it actually makes more more power than the F20C, and more than Honda actually claim for the F22C. I recall seeing some dyno plots showing it putting out rather more than 237bhp - but we all know how random they can be.....

Will we get it over here? Never say never, but Honda have given no indication that it's on the cards for the European market.

Don't know - not sure why you're asking either, unless you're planning on emigrating to the US or to Japan!

I wouldn't have thought it would be subtantially different - the engine is, at least as my very non-techy undertanding goes, largely the same as the F20C component wise, but has stroked to give it the the extra displacement.

I am not thinking about emigrating, but I am considering importing a platinum white with a 2200 from the JDM!

As you can imagine, I have quite a few reservations with regard to the differences.

In the 4-5years of ownership of my last JDM there have been no problems.

Honda UK even offered a manufacturers warranty on that import ! I think the perception of a 2.2 would be very different in the eyes of Honda UK and insurance companies.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Razzele's no newbie!

Bibbs is correct, unless someone was written an SVA technical manual for one. Someone has to be first!

it is hard enough to get the 04/05 through let alone one with a different engine

BTW LL AFAIK the F22 never ran as an option along side the F20 in Japan. It came in with the MY06 changes (VSA etc)

I stand corrected in that case!
