Hey,

What is your oipinion on the 2006 S2000? I would like to know if anyone has one yet and how is the car different from previous years. I know about the list of changes given by Honda but how does this translate to the real world?

a) Is there any difference in performance (with the inclusion of the Drive By Wire?)

b) How noticable is the V-tec Kick in?

c) Sound of the engine/exhaust?

d) How much better is the new stereo?

Obviously previously owning an earlier model helps in the comparison?

I pick mine up next Wednesday, so will be in a position to do a full comparison to my 03 after 2-3 weeks.

Having said that, the new 06 has the same stereo, the extra speakers being the only difference. My new 06 is currently at my local audio place getting all of the below fitted as I really don't like the stock setup.

If anything I expect the car to be slightly slower (extra weight), but probably not noticeable, and I am hoping the DBW throttle will be nice and responsive.

Engine noise and exhaust note are the same too.

Well i had my car for one month now! Well i've nv really driven the older models So i cant really compare.......but i love the car, but not much in the wet though! i've learnt my lesson!! theres one thing am not too keen on is the overtaking power when cruising on 6th gear, apart from that the car has met most of my expectations.

The whole point of this car is to drive it like a bike, match the revs to what you want to achieve.

For example if you want to overtake someone quickly when you are doing 70, you should already be in 4th by the time you are 100 yards behind him, depending on your exact speed of approach you might want to drop to third, either way you then give it welly and disappear into the distance.

If you do this you are unlikely to be disappointed.

 

Obviously anybody in the UK has to wait another 2 months to get a 2006 with VSA. Anybody gettin their VSA'd 2006 earlier than this?
