8k. The yanks seem to think the 2.2 is faster though. Probably just due to the extra torque.

Has any one put that engine in a british car, would it rev to 9000

whats the point of 2.2?

is it the same BHP

Officially, no - it puts out the same power as the 2.0.

Unofficially, yes - there's a bit of a debate but a number of people with 2.2s have had them dynoed and show them putting out more like 260 bhp.

Unsurprisingly, which side any given individual subscribes to tends to depend whether they drive a 99-03 2.0 or an 04+ 2.2......

I like the wheels

One thing with that style of leather it might not look so nice when new - but the old 05 leather doesn't age well. with plain leather you see the creases and cracking even on a well looked after one. On the 06 this won't show at all or take longer before it become noticable

What an interesting idea! A US 2.2 engine could increase its redline by being shipped across the Atlantic and transplanted into a UK car!

The 2.2 has the larger capacity as a result of being stroked. Or is it bored? Can't remember Anyway, it's the increase in capacity that means the redline had to be reduced. You can't have it both ways.......
