Hmmmmmmmm........sounds like it's going to be touch and go whether you manage to 'burn' all 3 ltrs. of that 'scarce as hens teeth' 10w-30................try VTEC'ing in every gear (incl. reverse) at every opportunity! (the 6000-9000rpm phase must be quite exciting in reverse - anyone tried this?????)

Hi,

Does anyone know what the volume of oil required is to go from the lower line to the upper line on the dipstick?

cheers,

I guess that means I can keep an emergency Litre in the boot, rather than the huge gallon container..

Have a good time in Spain by the way!

Better less than more I would think. I did 3000 miles in 6 weeks, so whether the time frame has nything to do with it? (i.e. long journey / short journey?)

Hi,

I dont belive that anything is wrong if you havn't used a lot of oil..the oil usage does vary considerably from car to car......some use none, and some use truckloads.....(mine falls in the truckload catagory ) One thing to remember (forgive me if you already know this) is to check BOTH sides of the dipstick...as the level varys a lot from side to side!

Hi,

I had my oil topped up for free at Tunbridge Wells Honda, 1 Litre in 1600 miles, and 7 weeks old. They gave me another couple of litres free of charge

I like the people very friendly, did all the work, and would not take any money for it, all part of the service, and they did'nt even sell me the car!!!

Nick.
