I am soon to have intruding cars parking in the private parking areas of the estate where I live, but sadly clamping is no longer legal in scotland.
Any other ideas for "discouraging" intruders (non-violent if possible)?

It's the extortionate rates that gets me. Gad - I can understand your position, but there are times and places when the little gets are just too smug about it.

When I was younger I used to do a LOT of weight lifting with three other mates (Benching 120kg's, Military Pressing 60kg's and leg press 375kg's)
Generally we would have a bit of fun with friends cars by lifting them and carrying them around the corner and then watch as they couldn't find their cars but it is also very useful when you get some tit parking across entrance ways or in very inconsiderate places.
Tricks that have been done are lifting cars out of the place and 'parking' them in on yellow lines or in places that are extremely difficult to get out of.
I admit it's a fairly nasty thing to do to someone and it was when I was young and stupid but you don't often get repeat offenders
