Got mine Wed (10th) done over 600 miles as at today, no gear grinding to report and me only 2 issues are the headlamp washer is pants and leaves streaks on me bonnet AND the sills inside the door get dirtier than me MY02 did which has the undesirable effect of leaving a dirty smudge about half way up the door where it obviously all collects on the way back out, may be a door seal issue but is on both sides, may just be result of new styling or some other slight modification, dunno, not vert pretty though

I agree that this is what is needed. Disabling the light washers completely is an extreme option.
Someone on this board with a knowledge of electrics should be able to come up with a solution. Come on guys it isn't quantum physics!
We are fed up with streaky bonnets and getting soaked every time we wash the windscreen.

I've disabled my washers completely (as most of us pre MY02 drivers have) and I can honestly say that I've never missed having them.

I can count on one hand the times I used the specific HID washer button on my 02 - and each of those was either curiosity or boredom-driven

As soon as I can get round to it, I'm going to whip out the fuse to disable it completely. I agree with PL 100% about the irritation factor of having the HID washers causing streaks all over the wings and down the flanks whenever you need to clean the screen.
