That evidence is fair enough, can't argue with it. The plug cover was stamped 23.3.2004 which is early 04, so if the engine has never been in a previous car, could the block of been manufactured in say 2003 (hence the code) but then assembled at a later date, cue the 2004 top end bits?

It's not like the plug covers on these are plastic like on other Honda's and are likely to be damaged. The plug cover was aged in the same way as the rocker too.

I will ring Honda tomorrow and see if they can do some digging around for me!
