I've just fitted two MZ rears today and the fronts are pretty new too, so it'll be a while before I need road tyres again.

I assume therefore, RE070s are the way forward, S2000 Cafe-Racer style.

That's assuming they ever bring the RE070's over here. In the correct fitment that is.

What about the new Eagle F1 Asymmetric's?

They have good reviews
Although they are listed for the S on the German Goodyear site when I contacted Goodyear UK they said the fronts are not available here as they are still under development

Rears are available and in stock.

I have a text copy of the Evo tire test if anyone is interested.

The Goodyear guy I spoke to was pleased to inform me they trounced Bridgestone on their own test track.

On the front tyre, I would recommend fitting the 215/45 R17 RE050 87W Alfa Romeo fitment. This has the advantage of being the same pattern as the original S2000 fitment and you should not notice any difference between the two tyres.
So if it's the same size, with the same tread, is the rubber the only thing that's different? But if it's the same model, you'd think that was the same too...!?

I smell a whiff of fish with this bridgestone character......

The tyre is still being supplied on new cars, other people have no issue getting hold of them, and the bridgestone phone monkey is recommending a tyre from an Alfa Romeo ........
