Shiny is so much better than black for the wheels.

I was tempted by doing something similar (but without the polishing, obviously) as I now need (yet another) set of tyres for 17s. But I could probably get a beater for little more than the cost of second hand wheels and tyres, so I'm not sure if it really makes sense.

wheels free - tyres 300 quid then you have insurance on top of that plus any on going running costs or repairs. I just cannot afford to run two cars and being honest, i'd rather drive the S2000

Yes I know it's difficult. I've been racking up 1000s of miles in the S over the last 5 months all the time trying to make up my mind whether or not I should get a beater to do it in.

Have you got any more free wheels I can have for free?

Thanks Simon and I agree - next year may well be new wheel colour time.
White perhaps?

They do look good Pat, all the hard work has paid off.

Dembo - i guess the time to buy one would have been about 5 months ago .... just not the weather for it. I have the generous mr LG to thank for the wheels - i don't think he has any more although there seems to be more and more 16s being let go for nothing or next to nothing.

Simon / Mark ... considering white, not sure how well lime snot green would go with a red car

Dembo, have a search of the FS forum, there's a few sets going for next to nothing.
