A bit more free time, a bit less beer and one wheel is finished.

At least I can't polish the paint off ......

It would be a shedload easier but that wasn't the point of the exercise They're not perfect wheels and they're not meant to be, i just wanted to see what you could do by hand with nothing much more than time and effort.

Applying lacquer on the polished aluminium part is not recommended as it will flake off after some time (days to weeks).

The aluminium on the wheels will remain nice. Just give them a 2 minute polish once a week. I had done the same on my 17 inch wheels and they looked great every time. Not that i drove the car much anyways.

Glad you've done that and posted pictures because I can see what mine might look like with a lot of effort. The set I picked up from Lloyd look worse than your's, but at least it does show what is possible.

Decisions, decisions... .

Only 3 more to go..

If you have any polish left over maybe you could start on the cooker next?

I reckon for a really grotty wheel, it will take you ( by hand ) about 6 hours to achieve a decent finish.

I went back to Halfrauds yesterday and picked up some 1500g to refinish one and ended up doing both of them. 1200g wasn't quite fine enough to allow the NXT to refine the finish properly.
