Due to mytyres not accepting credit cards (even though their website says they do) I wasn't able to order my winter tyres until last night.
They should arrive at the fitter during the week........
except I won't be able to get my car out of the garage on normal tyres in order to go and get them if it doesn't thaw
I can see myself having to chuck my wheels into a taxi to the fitter.

I am about 5 miles south of Newcastle, came home this morning and could not see my car. There was just S2000 shaped snow drift.
The snow is about a foot deep up here and still going.
Seen my first abandoned car today also, BMW.

Fun Fun Fun You can't rewrite the laws of physics on them but they definitely get you moving in a straight line and keep you that way.
On 2" of fresh snow it feels like being back in my ancient mini metro, that was great in snow - skinny tyres but always controllable, this feels just like that did. In fact if anything i'd compare it to driving on wet grass.
You can hang the tail out if you want but let go of the wheel and it comes back in line by itself - feels very predictable
Why would you want a beater when you can VTEC sideways with no worries about wasting tyre tread
