Ok braking performance when heavy braking is considerably reduced with the Kumho's compared to the RE50s, probably due to the softer sidewall, so bear this in mind! I find the ABS kicking in which I have never felt before.

They still slow the car, I just feel the ABS now and the distance is further...

I got mine from Event as well, seem to be the cheapest.

It's only getting close to optimum operating temperatures so go easy - normal driving you won't have a problem - also don't forget they will take a few miles to bed in.

Done about 200 miles on them now, know you are supposed to do 500 till they are properly worn in, just took me a little by surprise!

What pressures are you at, I'm at 33 to 34 at the moment and that feels nice.

As for the braking performance, that's what i'd call driving out of their intended operating condition .... they will do that on a warm dry day however on a cold dry / damp / wet day they will work out of the box and be far better than the summer tyres you had.

That's my understanding of cold season tyres anyway

33 all round.

Should probably check it again at some point as it has been a week now. Just make sure they hold their pressure!

Yeh, I think it is learning the characteristics of the tyre in differing conditions, they were not dangerous, but it was just oh, so are we going to slow down or not!? haha!

They obliged. I am in doubt they have better grip in the wet after driving on them a few times in the wet. It was 15C and dry yesterday though, so well out of their range!

I increased my tyre pressures today and this has helped the handling and braking no end. If it starts snowing or whatever might need to let some pressure out to increase surface area, but this seems to suit my driving style and feel really similar to the RE50As.

Front: 36psi
Rear 34-35psi

Give it a shot

Today was the 1st what i'd call 'COLD' day and the difference is noticeable - the car feels good from cold.

I will give the higher pressures a try though

Tell me about it! This morning it was cold and heavy rain, the car was not sliding or twitchy at all, and didn't even feel like it lacked in grip!

Well impressed. Plus when you are driving along even at 40 you can see all the spray behind you that you normally only see at 70 plus! I was truly impressed this morning.

Only problem is that the tyres are doing too a good a job and spraying all the dirty water up the side of the car and making it filthy, hahaha!

I am just being mindful of not overestimating the grip - but at sensible speeds it feels far less nervous and standing water really doesn't seem to bother things.

I'm still very much enjoying the ride quality improvement ..... am starting to question the 17s for anything but cosmetic appearance given that i'll never push the grip limits of either?

And my RE50A's are getting closer and closer to 1.6MM by the day,
