Default 12/20 Topgear S2000 Review

This has probably been done nearer the time but I was just flicking through my husbands back issues of topgear mag to try and get some reviews of the S2000. I found the review in the November 2006 issue and it wasnt a very good review at all. The over all score was 12/20. Thought Clarkson liked these cars !

He does - but he doesn't do the reviews for Top Gear mag.

The mag has always been more lukewarm about the car than Clarkson on the TV programme.

I get the impression that a lot of journo's didn't take to the S, because you need to know how to drive properly to get the best out of it. I'm hardly a driving God, but even I enjoy driving mine fast, and understand it's my lack of skill that will result in me having a crash.

Most of these journo's are writers first, then drivers second. So they want TC and loads of other electronic toys on their sports cars, because that's what all the other manufacturers offer on their cars of a similar type.

I think the Avensis got quite a high score a long time ago but has NEVER been car of the year any where.... the review went somewhere along the lines of nice car and drive but dull interia... It does exactly what it says on the tin

Much better looking than both the Poxter and the Z4 IMO, and a fair bit cheaper as well.

I parked next to a Z4 the other day and I think its just too much out of proportion. The bonnet is too long and and boot is too short. The Poxster looks too similar from both ends.

The 350z roadster is pretty hideous as well I think. Don't mind the coupe but the roadster?
