I'm not saying that serious accidents don't happen, just that if I had to have a crash at 60mph and I had a choice of having said crash in a car built in 1974 and a similar car built in 2004, I know which one I'd choose.
Not quite that simple.

Say a head on between a 1974 XJ6 and a 2004 Yaris.

I think I might take the Jag.

Like for like, you would be right of course.

Like Gad, I have a penchant for Large British Luxury saloons cars where the crumple zone is three cars in front

I take it you guys didn't see the Smart car smashed into solid concrete blocks the other night on TV?
Amazing how the little car stood up.

After seeing that, I think I'd take my chances in the Yaris TBH.
(Especially after 30 years of corrosion on the Jag )

I did actually, was impressive, though I was dissapointed that they didn't comment on the fact that the steering column had gone straight through the 'driver'

As to gaddafi and C7BLE, I did say similar...

Pheeeeeewwww, That was close .... 2 Days in a Welsh Cell !!!

I only tried to explain to the judge just how fast the car was and how stable it feels at speeds well over the 106mph which I was doing !!!

Only Joking

Tuesday Morning ...

Put my best suit on,
Arrived two hours early ... no jokes about doing a tonne all the way please !!!
Saw the Court usher and he got us in soon after,
GF came with me and sat in the public gallery,
Prosecution lawyer read out my case, I was then asked Guilty or Not Guilty ...
Felt like a serial killer
Pleaded guilty.
They then discussed my current driving licence (3 points) and the type of car I was driving, this was really funny ....
The guy was looking at the pictures , shuffling papers, looking at the pictures and then shuffling more papers, I was dying to tell them but thought better of it.
Finally it was announced that it was a Honda S2000 GT .... Nice that he mentioned it was a GT .... I'm sure the judge understands the differences.

I was then asked if I had any defence
I told them I had a few word to say that I hope would reduce the possible fine.
Told them that I had been driving for 15 years accident free.
Mentioned the road conditions on that day , dry, bright etc.
Did not say anything about the car or the fact that I have the skills of an F1 driver

They then adjourned for a short while and then I was sentenced ....

The judge told me that my speed was excessive and that they looked very 'dimly' on this ...

Congratulations! Oh, and by the way, after your ban is lifted, your licence will be points free!
