I'm not saying that serious accidents don't happen, just that if I had to have a crash at 60mph and I had a choice of having said crash in a car built in 1974 and a similar car built in 2004, I know which one I'd choose.

Like most people are saying, speed limits where limits are neccesary, and I think we all tend to stick to them.

However, today whilst in a courtesy car (Honda Jazz) the speedo is not very clear, I was stopped doing 40 in a 30 zone and should have dutyfully received a ticket, however after the Police Man explained the reason for the initiative and everything and quite a log of apologising, strange car etc etc, got let off with a warning.

They are doing their job and if I had received a ticket today then there would have been no bad feeling towards the Police.

My 2p worth, however less than 90 on a dual carriageway / motorway in good conditions, light traffic etc should be dealt with in the same way

I got my last ticket in a Civic courtesey car. Speedo was clear enough, I was just bored out of my mind on the M1 with Will Young - Evergreen pushing me over the edge...

Hate to be pedantic, but the A55 North Wales dual carriageway from Bangor heading east definitely has some ( 70 ) signs...

Must admit, it's the only place I'd noticed them.... or do I recall some close to other ports: A14 near Ipswich, dual carriageways/motorways near Dover?
Yes it does. Now i'm not sure why, but i *think* it is something to do with:

a. not being a motorway
b. having streetlamps on the road

or something odd like that. My old man could prolly explain
