I had to wait 5.5 months to hear if I was going to be prosecuted for reckless driving, it's not fun waiting, let alone having to go to court as well!
ps I just had a warning letter, so got off very lightly (was on the way to XM1 last year)

I hope that it went okay for you.
I really don't get this speeding m'larky.
100mph outside a school, you get what you deserve.
But on a dual carriageway, good weather, lots of visibility and no other vehicles?! So what if you were doing a ton. If you were driving like a twit, swerving all over the place etc then I could understand it.
Lets face it the S is a sportscar and doing a 100 really doesn't feel all that fast (I know it is, I know it will do shit loads of damage if it goes wrong) and that's one of the things its designed for, to be driven quickly.
In this day and age is 100mph really that excessive?
I expect to get flamed for this and I know the law is there to protect us and I'm aware of the consequences to myself and others if it went wrong, but I don't see the harm in the odd blast now and then in relative safety.
Speed limits in the right places I don't have a problem with, fully agree with 'em, but it really is time we re-assess limits that date back how many years?

We'll have to agree to differ there, Crumple Zones, Safety Cell Technology, Passenger protection technology, and pedestrian proctection policy to a lesser degree have all definitely moved on.
Not that I'm suggesting that anybody would advocate the increase of the speed limit in pedestrian areas (no doubt somebody would though )
But I think on Motorways today it is a different story.
An interesting prospect would be active maximum speeds on the motorways, which we already have in someways (usually as you approach jams) if these were in wider use, and some intelligent thought were put in use, you could haigher speed limits on dry days with no traffic...

last week, a girl i know of was witness to a car crash @ 60 mph. 1 guy fighting for life after 30hrs of surgery, another loosing an eye and the third due to have a foot amputated. the cars collided and went round her, smashing into the bank, bouncing off eithr side of her car.
