Ask your self that when you hit a standing squirrel or a poodle, probably just at the same moment the cars tail gets a bit overexcited and try's to beat you to the nearest ditch

Someone needs to explain the physics of the rear overtaking the front when aquaplaning to me.....can't quite see how that works unless there is some reasonable power being pushed through the rears - which there isn't really if you are cruising on the motorway.

Is it related to the LSD and aquaplaning just one rear tyre? Then I guess I can see it........

Rain isn't the problem. It's the wet roads that get you.

The resistance on each side is never going to be the same, so any car is going to tend to try and spin one way or the other whilst aqua planing. It would take a hell of a lot of skill to hold it straight indefinitely, but you ought to be able to get through the sort of small puddle you get on motorways.

Maybe people panic and brake? Either that or they're asleep and are suprised by it and create some steering input and cause the spin.

From my experiance it was a combination of many things...

Front then rear loosing/regaining grip

size and depth of puddle per wheen and amount of grip lost relative to each tyre on the axel. As i dont think both wheels loose grip at the same time especially if your cornering.

Driver input

But im no expert driver! im sure there was some post explaining what happens in some detail. Had a feeling it was on the us forum. Not sure though.

Mainly due to the lack of a decent spell checker imo

On a more serious note it's for those conditions i installed a TC on my car
