Default 10 Year old fails MOT Test

Took the S for an MoT test today...it failed!

001 Nearside front Front position lamp(s) incorrect colour.

002 Offside front Front position lamp(s) incorrect colour.

I replaced the standard sidelights with blue LEDs a few years ago. They're no more blue than the HIDs, which is why I fitted them in the first place. I had no idea they were illegal. The S has been through at least 3 MoT tests with these same bulbs in and the same garage tested it last year, it hasn't been picked up before. It only failed on the emissions last year & that was because I had left the decat pipe on.

Still, the S is all MoTed now.

Maybe the tester thought you'd driven a council house decorated for Christmas into his garage.

So - you took a perfectly good car - chavved it up to Wayne Rooney in JJB Sports proportions and it failed it's MOT.

That'll teach you.

Start putting some Monoxodol on your chest and chin areas, you will find those chavving type tendancies will die out - and you will enjoy a brilliantly designed and engineered sports cars without the need for Maplin/ Ripspeed.

I've had LED side lights in mine for years never had an MOT problem with them.
But then they aren't blue

If they would fail mine on such a small technicallity I would never go back to them, I would take my Christmas tree elsewhere!

What colour temp are they?

You can get E marked road legal 6500K HIDs, surely they are not bluer than that?!

do you have neons as well..?

Years ago I saw an old Datsun 120Y in Scarborough. It was a dull red (and rust in colour) with jacked up rear suspension and a loud exhaust. It was also festooned with lights including neons and some sort of spot lights that were there to highligh the rear axle... the trouble is it was a standard, rusty 120Y back axle... had me chuckling most of the evening.
