If I remember correctly Honda had identified what was causing the knocking/rattle in late model engines (Bearings I think it was) and as a result they'll no longer be replacing Short Blocks just the offending bearings.

As per most forums for anything, you generally hear the bad news!
If it were such a big deal you would have heard about it on watchdog. Yes Honda seem to have isolated the problem to bad bearings and are doing the warranty thing where required, in the past they seemed to be replacing a bad engine with another bad engine, those times seem to have passed.

I suffered somewhat as my previous posts testify. But (touching a forest full of wood) the current engine (the car's third in less than 10k miles) is running well and hasnt yet displayed the rattle of dispair that the previous two engines did. Its been running 2200 miles now and I think I have just managed to raive it without nervious every time the revs hit 2500.

I'm afraid not in any great detail, as she is going to tell all once some things have been agreed with Honda.
Honda have identified what is wrong - it's something relatively cheap and are no longer replacing whole engines.
Full details will be posted relatively soon I guess.
