They always drop like a stone when the winter sets in.
Plus the deal will not want to have depreciating stock on his forecourt over the winter, he needs to move it!
Hence low prices.

I think quite a few dealerships are heading for closure, so they are probably just trying to get some cash flow.

I think it could be for new cars in this price range.

But if you wait for a nearly new one private, I suspect in a few months things might get silly.
