Saw the black centre console lid on a BB 06 in the Cloverleaf Ascot showroom on Friday. Have to admit it doesn't quite look right, the black edging does not contrast well with the slightly different black texture/colour of the centre covering. May be I'm just used to the silver bling on my 05.
As to the 04 "rubber U", never really noticed it before. Thanks, notice it all the time now.

I think it looks flat and horrible, much prefer the MY00's.
Like most features on the original car, it's just more... honest. I like the >04 front end, but the rest is just overkill, IMO. Mutton dressed as lamb etc.
