04 Wheel - now refurbished.
Following on from this thread, I have now had the wheel refurbished and it is back on the car.
The repair was carried out by Pristine who's details are available in the List of Wheel Refurbishers.
You'll have to excuse the 'before' pic as it was taken on my mobile. I'd forgotten to take a proper one and it was the best I could do when dropping the wheel off - the damage is still clearly visible.
Before:
After:
I can't tell where the damage was, which is a good thing. I didn't take a full wheel picture beforehand so I can't even work it out from where the valve is.
The bad parts? I was without the wheel for 12 days. I guess this is mainly due to the fact that I wasn't dealing with Pristine directly, I was using one of their agents (Foxhunters Tyres for the locals). I dropped the wheel of with them, they removed the tyre and gave me it back, packaged the wheel, arranged collection and on return refitted the tyre and did the balancing etc. I was aware that it would take this long but I missed out on lots of top-down weather.
Also, the repair wasn't exactly cheap coming in at coppers over

I'm assuming it is painted as I wanted the wheel to look original.
I imagine it's expensive as they have to paint the wheel and do the diamond cutting to get the polished effect on the surface.
There aren't too many places that can do it so I guess they can charge a premium because of that.
Also, it's worth remembering that some of that cost will be to cover the carriage from Whitley Bay to Milton Keynes and back, and the agent would have added their percentage.
I'm sure it would be cheaper if you were to take the wheel to them.

Looks good but how does it match up with the remaining three wheels? I refurbed a wheel on my old car and obviously it's repaired in isloation and did come back as good as new. But in certain lights it was a slightly different shade to the existing wheels

First impressions are that it is a very close, if not exact, match.
