'technically' referred to the DVLA registration not the insurance. Would be cheaper for me to insure the car anyway and both cars are with them and both of us on both policies.

The car is registered to fiance as we scrapped her car for the S and new registered keeper has to be that of the person who scrapped the car.....I just paid for it!!!

If you're over 30 and the car is at least 10 years old & garaged, a classic car policy (limited mileage) represents good value out there.

In the short time reading S2k forums, the number of crashes would indicate that the S deserves its group 20 rating and experience of a performance car should be a given IMO.

The world really has gone mad. Performance cars are accessible to us all. 150mph & 200+ bhp is par for the course for a top end hatch. Youngsters can just pop down the garage and pick up a seriously fast car - no questions asked. When I was younger 150 mph cars came with a health warning and some manufacturers even offered performance driving courses before you could buy there cars (I think Aston Martin vantage) where is the social responsibility allowing a 22 year old to move from a 1.2 punto to a 200 bhp CTR

Oh well, I'll get off my soap box preaching

I posted a while ago about a new Classic car insurance company - they would cover for around £450 - do a search on my posts and see if you can find it ?

Try elephant/ admiral, they've always been good for me
cautionary note about admiral...when my s2000 caught fire they said it was down to mechanical failure ie loose oil filter even though id had it regularly serviced and their comprehensive policy doesnt over fire caused by mechanical failure so wont pay out a penny!

The same with any major insurer, if you read a few other policies.
