Kill em!!

I normally park miles away from other cars in a car park to avoid stuff like this. Its a pain in the ass but if it avoids things like that then its worth it.

I'd be surprised if there was any criminal sanction - as I understand it, you're only obliged to report an accident to the Dibble if someone is hurt.

But if the registration is visible on any CCTV footage which might exist, it would mean Budgie could pass it on to his insurers, get them to meet the claim and then have them recover it from the other guy without affecting his premium - as when I got rear-ended. The insurance companies have a direct link to the DVLA database and so could identify who the registered keeper of the other vehicle is.

Exactly as I thought. Suggest you threaten IKEA with a BIG BIG claim and see what happens!

Hey I've got an idea, lets have a Smegger meet in THAT Ikea carpark and do loads of Doughnuts and piss off all 4x3 tossers.

CNUTS,

My car is getting so many small dents and trolly marks by these ignorant fcukwits.

I really feel for you Ian, lets take over the carpark until Ikea pays up for a CF boot lid.

To what end? Odds on, they will have signs up in the carpark indicating that patrons park their cars there at their own risk. So even if you did have a claim, that type of exclusion of liability is most likely going prevent it going anywhere.

In any event, it's going to be very hard to establish any kind of claim against Ikea - they didn't cause the damage, nor was it caused by any omission on their part. Any claim has to be against the wit in the suspected 4x4.

Thats the sad state of affairs now.

Only a 'fool' would leave his details according to our system. If he did, then he would definately be funding it. If he doesn't then chances are he doesn't fund it. If he gets caught, then he does.

But there is no penalty for him should he get caught. So why admit it?

Its bloody awful and not the right thing to do - but when you look at the way the rules are placed, the incentive, if no one is injured, is to run off.

A bit like a crook saying no comment whenever he is questioned.

Gets you more angry the more you consider it.

Ian, boots are on back-order at the moment with Honda. When mine is replaced, you could perhaps organise to get my old one (& light), which has only minor damage. This would need a respray (& a dents-away guy) though. I pressed my main dent out fairly easily by putting my hand behind the dent - doubt it'd work on yours though.

I would be obso-ing-lutely apoplectic. Ian, I really feel for you buddy. This sort of thing makes me so .

As others have said, there's just no decency any more..... every one s everyone else over and doesn't give a about it.

I can just imagine the cnut that did this...... "Oh sh!t, I just whacked that motor, better get our of here pretty quick" (checking to see who might have noticed) ... not even giving it a secong thought.

As CC says, if he is as much trouble for reporting it as he is for not reporting it and getting found out later, where's the "incentive" (over and above common decency) to report it.... might as well drive off and take your chances that you won't be found out. However, if you faced castration with the use of two breeze blocks for driving off and then getting found out, maybe your average brainless wit who does this sort of thing would think "hmmm... better leave a note"

Sorry for all the offensive language, but those pictures have made me really annoyed.

Bad luck Ian - feel so sorry for you

If it were me I'd key all the 4x4s I see everywhere (for ever more) just in case it was them!

Lee - you can fit all sorts of Ikea tat in an S - t lights, plastic spatulas, napkins etc
