I'm game for another meet. I'd love to get some video footage of 13 S2ks going full tilt passed the camera, or one by one across a T junction like at Rutland.

Much as I like the Snowdonia roads, I think the Chester/A55 option would be too far for a day from Southampton - the scenic route to Rutland was 3 hours / 160 miles x2, and I'd rather blow 500 miles of my low mileage allowance on being there rather than getting there.

How about a sad techie way to decide where we meet - average out our starting point latitude and longitudes and find the closest pub / place of interest to that point.

Alternatively, pretend you live in Shetland - that should equate to half a dozen geordies !

I am up for a meet again, 1st couple of weeks in September are out though.

Got the video transferred onto my PC of the Rutland meet, minor problem with file size at around 25Mb at present, some more editing and probably cutting it into 4 sections. Will post it very soon, sorry for the delays, had a stag weekend last weekend, then the wedding this weekend (not mine).

Hi Steve,

Following up on your post I've taken the techie approach (some people would probably use the word "sad" ).

Here, as they say, are the results of the judges.

- Based upon those who made posts about the Rutland meet
- Making some assumptions about the location of some members
- Using the X,Y coordinates from streetmap.co.uk
- Averaging out the X and Y coordinates
and assuming I have my maths correctly

We find ourselves...........about 5 miles NW of Daventry, just off the M1/M45 junction.

Anyone know this area?

P.S. Sorry everyone, it just had to be done

When I get a few moments I shall have to dig out my Readers Digest Guide To Britain. That book is full of great places to visit.
Only one problem, it does'nt have a good pub guide

I am up for a meet - Rutland sounded great.

I am in Sussex, but more than happy to drive north - perhaps sme of us southern-softies could meet up and head north in convoy?

Look forward to seeing the plan evolve.

There must be some good roads / pubs in the Cotswolds - Top Gear use the area all the time for their road tests.

Anyone know the area well enough to make recommendations???????

Another nice thing to take in would be a tunnel - has anyone tried 9000rpm in a tunnel?
It is fantastic - 12 - 16 stooks in a tunnel would be mind blowing - a bit like th Tunnel in Monaco at 1:01pm on race day
