Track Day: Spa Francorchamps - Mon 6th & Tue 7th July *
#23
I've cancelled my place on this as racing at Spa on the 27th and 28th of June.
Didn't know I would be until a couple of weeks ago when I got my sixth race signature
Have a good time chaps

Team mate and I qualified 6th from 64 and third in class. First race we finished second in class and second overall.
Second race finished first in class and second overall again. Today I/we got to spray champagne on the top spot of the podium at Spa above the F1pits One more lap in both races we would have been first overall. Next year
We were in the inter series cup. Results below.

Only bit of rain was on the second lap of the first race, dried quickly though but not before a couple of cars went off at the top of raidillon.
The S2000 must have been struggling with setup/track knowledge as was quite slow and sadly didn't finish the second race. When I was under the safety car I saw it being towed off at Stavelot/Paul Frere with a lot of accident damage

Another fantastic couple of days at lovely Spa.
Day 1 - the trip over. Capt A (Gerry) and I met up at the Shell station at Folkestone for a fuel top-up and off we went. The weather was not very nice, but there was a lovely white Lambo ahead of us in the Tunnel.
After that came the schlep across France and Belgium. The traffic was pretty horrendous but good old Google Maps got us around the worst of it, and we arrived well ahead of several other Spa-bound cars we'd spotted at the Tunnel.
Day 2 - Typical Spa weather!
Well, ok, it wasn't, but what a day!
We headed off to the circuit and did the usual sign in,safety briefing and preparation, all ready to go:
Then it was sighting laps followed by open pit lane. I was having a great time, my previous Spa experience meaning I was into the rhythm very quickly, despite having done hundreds of laps, Spa still remains a real challenge, it's so difficult to get every corner right over and over again.
Gerry was finding his feet but I'll let him tell his story when he returns.
The white Lambo was spotted again, this time in nicer weather - although it wasn't being used on the circuit.
The weather remained fantastic all day long:
Gerry had some instruction and was getting quicker and quicker, here he is whizzing past the pits: https://goo.gl/photo...74ouM5vKtEECA97
The day carried on and was very lovely. There were a couple of red flags due to breakdowns, one caused by some sort of Radical/track car dumping oil across the circuit on the approach to Blanchimont just ahead of me. Fortunately, I spotted the "slippery" flag and slowed down in time so that there was only a small wiggle as I crossed it. Phew!
