I thought we'd covered that point. The object of the exercise was to have all three groups arrive at the lunch stop at the same time.

Of course, I didn't see any of the 'moments' described, but it sounds like there were some rather narrow escapes.
I think, in reality, there were fewer "narrow escapes" and less speeding in marked areas than would normally be the case with 52 240 bhp sports cars spread about the UK.

Maybe the next SM could be a combination of posing and thrashing (grace and pace?) by having a day or two based around a track day, with the road speeds toned down.
I don't know, personally, I think track days appeal only to a limited number of members. A trip out through beautiful, unfamiliar countryside along empty, inviting roads, appeals to almost everyone. In any event, I thought there was an "understanding" between most of us, given that we were in three groups of, hopefully, similar drivers, that 'racing' other S2000's was not 'cricket'. Perhaps we should make that more clear next time.

Just a final thought; I wouldn't think this idea of fast, intermediate groups, etc would look too good in the aftermath and investigation of an accident
It's just terminology for naming the three different groups; it could just have easily been Groups A, B & C. I don't see what relevance it would have in any such circumstances.

Like the idea of meeting up though, and will definitely try to make the next one.
You'd be very welcome

The point was that at one end of the spectrum, there are people (or passengers) who will like to drive in a non-hurried manner, taking in the sights and enjoying a lazy open-topped drive. At the other end are people, like me, who love the "call of the open road" and, once out of 30/40/50 speed zones, like to drive their cars as quickly as conditions and skill will allow (hopefully allowing a margin for error).

Well, I hope it wasn't me !!!

Anyway, I've just had a speeding fine for 41 in a 30 which suggests I was going too fast. Wouldn't mind but for the fact that I thought I was observing 30s and 40s (which I obviously wasn't)

My last speeding offence was in 1978!

Did anyone see Leggy Blonde's opportunistic driving on the M4 from reading - slotted in behind the rozzer with flashing lights, and made up some spots ? Good one

Well, it would have been rude not to take up the offer of a 'clear' fast lane
